Myanmar Cultural Tour

Yangon – Bago – Mandalay – Bagan – Salay – Mt. Popa – Pyay – Yangon
( 12 days / 11 nights)

Day 01) Yangon arrival

Arrival in Yangon - Transfer - Sightseeing Yangon - Visit Sule Pagoda - Visit Jetty, where we could see the daily life of local people and Yangon’s River – Photo stop at the Kandawgyi (Royal) Lake - Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda (Reclining Buddha) - Visit Bogyoke Aung San Market - Shwedagon Pagoda for the sunset - Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02) Yangon – Bago – Yangon (By vehicle)

Excursion to Bago. On the way visit Htaukkyant Allied War Cemetery. Visit Kyaik Pun Paya built in 1476 by King Dhamazedi, it consists of four 30 m high sitting Budddhas placed back to back around a hug, square pillar – Maha Kalyani Sima Ordination Hall – Shwe Thalyaung Reclining Buddha – Bago Market – Shwemawdaw Pagoda – Hinthagon Pagoda and Kanbawzathadi Palace.
Drive back to Yangon - overnight in Yangon.

Day 03) Yangon – Mandalay (By day train)

Transfer to Railway Station – By day train to Mandalay – Transfer – Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 04) Mandalay

Sightseeing Mandalay – visit Mahamuni Image – Silk Weaving Home Cottage - Tapestry making home cottage – marble carving workshop – Gold Leaf Beating Workshop – Shwenandaw Monastery (A traditional wooden building) – Kuthodaw Pagoda is the world’s largest book made of marble – Mandalay Hill for sunset – Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 05) Amarapura – Sagaing – Mingun (by car and boat)

Excursion to Amarapura, 15 km from Mandalay to visit Mahagandaryone Monastery where more than a thousand monks live and study continue to 200 years old U Bein’s Teak Bridge built in 1782. Visit wood carving and bronze castling workshops. Proceed to Sagaing Hill (known as the center for meditation) – Visit Kaungmudaw Pagoda – Pottery making village and silver – smith workshops.
Afternoon boat trip to Mingun – visit Mingun Bell – Patodawgyi Unfinished Pagoda and surrounding village – Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 06) Mandalay – Bagan (By express ferry)

Transfer to Jetty – By express ferry to Bagan – Transfer – Overnight in Bagan.

Day 07) Bagan

Sightseeing Bagan – Nyaung Oo Market – Shwezigon Pagoda – Ananda Temple – Kyansitha U min – Thatbyinnyu Temple – visit Lacquer-ware making home cottage – Manuha Temple – Myinkaba Gubyaukgyi Temple – Dhamayangyi Temple – Sunset for Shwesandaw Pagoda – Overnight in Bagan.

Day 08) Bagan – Mt. Popa – Salay Bagan (By vehicle)

Excursion to Mount Popa and Salay - Visit Salay and its surrounding includes wooden monastery Yokesone Kyaung, famous of its sculpture, afterwards drive to Mt. Popa also known as Home of Spirits, climb up the hill and enjoy the panoramic view at the top of the hill – Drive back to Bagan - Overnight in Bagan

Day 09) Bagan – Pyay (By vehicle)

By overland drive from Bagan to Pyay – Overnight in Pyay.

Day 10) Pyay

Sightseeing Pyay – visit to the Ahkauttaung, that is the ancient custom check point by motorized boat along the Irrawaddy River There Buddha statues were curved on the hanging cliff. – Sehtatgyi, named “Big Ten-Story – Hmawza where is the ancient city of Pyu Dynasty - Shwesandaw Pagoda for sunset - Overnight in Pyay.

Day 11) Pyay Yangon

Overland drive from Pyay to Yangon – Overnight in Yangon.

Day 12) Yangon Departure

Departure transfer to Airport.
