Mt Victoria of 3400 meter high is the perfect place for nature lovers. Soft trekking, butterfly and bird watching are available. The old tradition of tattooing face is fading fast but still can be seen in some villages.

Located in Southern Chin State, towering 10500 feet, (3180 meters), is a designated National park under name of Nat Ma Taung with the core area of 446-squire kilometer situates in the Southern Chin hills is the southern out post of Himalayas, of a volcanic origin. This region generally isolated and possesses many species birds and plants. Some rare flowers found on its summit and nowhere else in the world. Mt. Victoria offers a great opportunity for bird watching activities. One can come across several species of birds of low land scarf forest through the high elevation up to the summit. Southern Chin state due to its isolation maintains the unique Chin tribal culture. The Chin are of Tibeto-Burman inhabit in the hills of Chin State bordering Bangladesh and India. As hill people, they have been isolated and to this day little is known of their animistic culture. Chin tribe women wearing various pattern of tattoo on their face and attractive amber necklaces. Roads are still very bad so this excursion is not recommended for rainy season ( May to Oct ). As for accommodations, only very simple guest houses are available so this excursion is suitable only for the adventurous clients.

Day 1 Bagan/Kampalet (by jeep)

Myanmar-Bagan-13-1-380x254After breakfast at hotel in Bagan, drive to Kampalet about  220km approximately for 7 hours drive, across over the Ayeyarwaddy River bridge. On the way you may have opportunity to see some of the prominent local birds of lowland area. Lunch will be served at local restaurant. Kampalet is a very beautiful hill station 1380 meters above sea level. The temperature is cool all year round and pleasant. Upon arrival, visit around the village. Dinner and overnight in Mountain Oasis Resort, Kampalet.

Day 2 Kampalet/Mt. Victoria/Kampalet (Trekking)

images (4)After Breakfast , Start hiking to Mt. Victoria From Kampalet (1380 meters) it is 24 km to the peak of Mount Victoria (3109 meters), the third highest mountain of Myanmar. You can visit; the Natmataung National Park covers an area of 722 km with many rare forms of flora and fauna. And it is quite attractive scenery with numerous kinds of native birds. Enjoy your stay and exploration in Mt Victoria forest. For road condition, the car can go quite near to the 2nd base near to the peak; so that you have to climb only about 8 km by feet. It will take about 2 and half hours. Enjoy the spectacular views over the jungle and mountain area. Return to the second base-camp on Mount Victoria. Drive back to Kampalet. Overnight in Mountain Oasis Resort, Kampalet.

Day 3 Kampalet/Kyardo/Mindat (by jeep and trekking)

121742225After breakfast at resort, trekking to kyardo village and it takes one and half hour by car. The car stop on the road and you walk down to the village about 45 minutes. You will see varieties of face tattoo tribe women and typical Chin village houses like decorated by animal skull and bones. Return to car path, about one hour trekking. Then proceed to Mindat, more varieties of face tattoo women and typical Chin traditional houses. Dinner and overnight in Victoria guest house, Mindat.

Day 4 Mindat/Chin Tribe Village/Mindat (by jeep)

images (3)After breakfast, drive to PANOW VILLAGE. You may have the chance to see the famous Chin women with tattooed faces, a fading tradition. They earn their living by hunting and farming in the mountain. Return back to Mindat. Lunch at local restaurant. In the afternoon explore Mindat area Dinner and overnight in Victoria guest house, Mindat.

Day 5 Mindat/Bagan (by jeep)

images (1)In the morning after breakfast at Victoria Guest House, drive back to Bagan. Stop for lunch en route. Arrive Bagan in early evening and overnight in Bagan. Hotel in Bagan own arrangement or you book through us the Hotel.
