Hsipaw: A small town traditionally ruled by the Sawbwa (chieftain of region).
Nam Sam is a capital township of Palaung (minority) located at 5400 ft above sea level, in (Northern Shan State) and surrounding hills are covered by tea plantations and hill-tribe’s villages. The town looks out over a sea of rucked-up mountain ridges and plunging ravines. Most of the inhabitants are Shwe (golden) Palaung and there are several different type of Palaung such as Ngwe (silver) and Paley Palaung villages sitting on the top of over 6000 ft high mountain around Nam Sam. The tea cultivation and tea industry is the main local employer.

Detail Itinerary
Day 1 Hsipaw – Pan Nyaung Village (Golden Palaung Villaage) (approx; 8 hours)
Start trek with short transport from hotel/guest house through (Tai villages, mountains for half an hour). Trek for several hours through little jungle and villages. Lunch stop in Pan Nyaung (Tai-Palaung village). Take afternoon walk along Tea crops, hill cultivation. Sleep in Golden Palaung village. (8 hours approx)
Day 2 Pan Nyaung Village – Palay Palaung Village (approx; 8 hours)
Trekking (tough) through villages and Tea crops. Enjoying scenery of Nam Sam and villages around. Lunch stop in Palay- Palaung village monastery. Take afternoon walk,enjoying panoramic high-hill scenery. Night-stop in Palaung (silver) village. (8 hours approx.)
Day 3 Palay Palaung Village – Namhsam (approx; 6 hours)
Trekking through tea mountain and villages. Enjoying scenery of Nam Sam and villages around. Lunch stop in (Gold Palaung village next to Nam Sam). Afternoon walk to Nam Sam (Palaung Capital). (6 hours approx.)
Day 4 Around Namhsam Sightseeing – Hsipaw (approx; 6 hours)
Sightseeing around Nam Sam morning (Zayangyi tea factories, “Konmuseng”ruby stupa etc. Lunch at local restaurant. Continue trip by pickup truck to Hsipaw. (6 hours approx).
